Jake Wiley wants to be an Eagle Scout. A few months ago, he and his father (Scott) came to us and asked if we had any needs that he could take on as a community project, in order to earn his Eagle Scout rating with the Boy Scouts of America. We provided him with a few ideas, and he selected as his project, the construction of an access ramp for the south end of our education building. This ramp will provide handicap access to the ball fields, and Garden Tomb, and will meet the requirements of the federal American Disabilities Act (ADA).
On April 18th Troop 6, along with families from the Arcadia neighborhood, began construction of the ramp. Jake and his troop also took it upon themselves to groom the grounds on the east side of our education building. What a wonderful display of community support this project is. Thanks to Jake Wiley, Scout Troop 6, and the Arcadia community for this wonderful addition to our facilities. We look forward to hearing news on Jake’s Eagle Scout badge.
